July/August 2018

It must have been a pretty strange site for Red Hawk visitors to see Christmas decorations and snowball covered golf carts in July! The theme was fun and playful, and everyone had a great time.

In this double issue of the newsletter learn more about the member guest tournament and other great activities.

Rae Morrow — Newsletter Chair

Our 2018 Member Guest “Christmas in July” was a success. The snow cones were a welcomed treat on one of the hottest days of the year. Janie and Rae did a great job at keeping us cool! The tee prizes were a nice surprise. We do have a few left over if you are interested in purchasing one please contact me or Kristi Olson. Thank you everyone who participated in playing and or donating to the raffle. It couldn’t be done without all your help. Watch for photos on the RHWGC homepage Gallery section.

DONATIONS NEEDED

The last few weeks have been really hot and there is no end in sight to this heat wave. Mary Brock, of Seniors in Service, said many seniors cannot afford to purchase fans, or do not have air conditioning and suffer during the summer. The heat can be deadly for those unable to afford air conditioning or expensive repairs, so we would like to help seniors here in Northern Nevada by collecting fans. The fans will be delivered to the Washoe County Senior Center and distributed by their social services department. They collect fans from the community through the end of August.

If you have a fan you are no longer using, or would like to purchase and donate a fan, please contact Rae Morrow.

SUNDAY COUPLES

Red Hawk is bringing back Sunday Couples play once a month! Upcoming dates are August 5, September 16 & October 14. We hope everyone who participates will stay to socialize at David's following play. Click here for full details.

HSTP

The HSTP results are in for July and RHWGC is presently in fifth place. We are only one of five teams to have won over 60 points this season.

Here's a cute photo of the most recent team who competed at Incline Village. Watch for opportunities to try out for a team on Thursday or Saturday ladies day.

Congratulations to Kixie Pugh for her hole in one during the Red, White, and Blue, July 4 on the Lakes #8!
